Nuovi successi per Ettore Favini e Christian Frosi

A new confirmation and important accomplishments for the artists that have been chosen and supported by Fondazione Ermanno Casoli. Ettore Favini (Cremona, 1974) and Christian Frosi (Milan, 1973) are among the ten finalists for the Premio MOROSO per l’arte contemporanea, a prize organized in collaboration with Galleria Comunale d’Arte Contemporanea of Monfalcone to document and promote the artists working in Italy.

Ettore Favini and Christian Frosi have been both invited by artistic director Marcello Smarrelli to participate in several projects realized by Fondazione Ermanno Casoli; such projects include: E-STRAORDINARIO#1, Dal progetto all’oggetto (2008), Elica Contemporary (Infinito by Favini and NZ 01 by Frosi are among the first acquisitions for the art collection curated by the foundation and on display on the Elica premises in Fabriano). In addition Ettore Favini, on the occasion of an event promoted by the foundation for the fourth edition of Naturalmente festival – Terre del buon vivere (2008), presented the installation Verdecuratodavoi.

As finalists of Premio MOROSO 2010, Ettore Favini and Christian Frosi participate in the exhibition at the GC.AC in Monfalcone from 11 December 2010 to 6 February 2011, presenting a project especially made for the show.

During the opening, Saturday 11 December, the three winners of the prize will be announced. The winners will be offered a residency and the chance to realize a site specific project in the Moroso showrooms in New York during the Armory Show, in London during Frieze and in Cologne during ArtCologne.

Ettore Favini is also the winner of the residency program promoted by Fondazione Civitella Ranieri, at the Centro Civitella Ranieri in Umbria. In addition, the artist will exhibit his works at the MAR – Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna in a solo show curated by Lorenzo Giusti opening Saturday 18 December. The exhibit is organized on the occasion of Critica in Arte, an exhibition project realized in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the City of Ravenna and with the support of Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna.

Farsighted and attentive to the young talents that base their research on the experimentation of different media, Fondazione Ermanno Casoli confirms its capacity to promote artists that in time establish themselves as protagonists of the international contemporary art scene.
